The National Football League has reached a deal with Amazon to stream 10 Thursday night games for Prime members.
According to sources cited in the Wall Street Journal, the one-year agreement is valued upward of $50 million, which is a near five-fold increase over a similar transaction the NFL secured with Twitter last year.
The games will still be available on cable television in addition to Prime’s approximately 60 million members.
Prime Video is a challenger to Netflix and Hulu, but this push into entertainment is an area that incumbent content streamers have avoided.
