Honoring the Work of Venture Capitalists Through the Canadian Startup Awards

There are dozens of venture capital firms in Canada. They foster Canada’s robust startup ecosystem by injecting capital into fledgling companies, many of which mature to anchor their local innovation hubs.

VCs play a major role in the health and sustainability of a startup ecoystem. A total of $2.3 billion was invested in Canadian companies in 2015, a 12% increase from 2014, according to Canada’s Venture Capital & Private Equity Association.

This is why we support the importance of venture capital through our Canadian Startup Awards, which recognizes the nation’s most outstanding VC firm each year.

Previous winners of the award include Real Ventures (2015 and 2011), Omers Ventures (2014), BDC Capital (2013), iNovia Capital (2012).

Who will win this year? Well, that’s for you to decide: which VC stood out most in 2016? Nominate one now.
