SpaceX Lands Another Rocket, Supplies International Space Station

This morning SpaceX celebrated the successful launch—and landing—of its Falcon main stage, providing supplies to the International Space Station.

The private space venture, founded by Elon Musk of Tesla Motors fame, saw its rocket also successfully return to Florida, rather than needing to be dropped onto a barge in the Atlantic ocean.

SpaceX has now returned five boosters from space. With any luck, the company may be able to re-use some of these boosters for future launches.

Just five years old, SpaceX sent the first privately owned spacecraft to the International Space Station, won a multi-billion-dollar contract from NASA, and plans to put a man on Mars.
