Latergramme –  Vancouver – Latergramme lets you schedule and manage your Instagram posts. Latergramme was the winner of the Fall 2013 AngelHack competiton and Launch Academy’s Summer 2014 Pitch Day. According to the founders, half the teams in the NFL are using Latergramme to manage their Instagram feeds.

 

Gallop Labs – Toronto – Spun out of Toronto’s Bnotions, Gallop Labs was recently named Canada’s most innovative startup by CIX and more recently raised a $2 million seed round led by Golden Venture Partners and Mantella Venture Partners.

 

ChainSync – London – ChainSync is a scalable franchise management system that recently raised $500,000 from an unnamed angel. ChainSync was founded in 2012 by Mike DeLorenzi while he was a 22-year-old student at Western University.

 

Blockstream – Montreal – Blockstream raised a $21 million seed round was led by by LinkedIn cofounder Reid Hoffman, Khosla Ventures, and Real Ventures. Blockstream is the first startup focused on advancements to the core technology underpinning Bitcoin.

 

Koho – Vancouver – Emerging from Stanley Park Ventures’ foundry, Koho is a new way to bank that is targeting Generation Y and humanizing the relationship between banks and their customers. Koho is a replacement for your current bank account and simply consists of a debit card, a web app, and a mobile app.

 

League – Toronto – Founded by Kobo cofounder Michael Serbinis and set to launch in early 2015, League will focus on preventative health and empower consumers to live healthier every day. Last month League raised a $4 million seed round led by OMERS Ventures.

 

Vivametrica – Calgary – A big winner at the recent Startup Calgary Launch Party, Vivametrica analyzes data from wearable sensor devices for the assessment of health and wellness. Vivametrica is positioned as a leader in wearable sensor data analytics.

 

Vello – Toronto – The winner of Innovators track at this year’s Global Startup Battle. Vello uses sensors to direct airflow throughout home spaces. Vello fits seamlessly into your existing vent system and through a host of smart sensors learns where and when you want air to flow throughout your living space.

 

Wagepoint – Waterloo – This HR tech company specializes in online payroll and recently raised a $2 million round led by Extreme Venture Partners. Funds are being used to accelerate its penetration into the US market and enhance its product portfolio.

 

Aspect Biosystems – Vancouver –  A second-place finisher in the 2014 BCIC-New Ventures Competition, this UBC-based biotechnology company is developing a proprietary 3D bioprinting and human cell culture technology platform capable of creating living human tissue models.

 

Borrowell – Toronto – Borrowell wants to transform how Canadians borrow. This soon-to-launch lending platform marketplace will offer unsecured consumer loans. They’ve raised $5.4 million in seed money from Equitable Bank, Oakwest Corporation, and a handful of angels including Dan Debow.

 

Vonigo – Vancouver – Grand prize winner in the 2013 BCIC-New Ventures Competition, this cloud-based business management system addresses the operational challenges faced by multi-location service companies, such as cleaners, painters, movers, and maid services.

 

Newtopia – Toronto – Newtopia uses genetics to develop personalized health plans and reduce corporate health costs. The Toronto-based startup has raised $2 million from Bloom Burton & Co. and has raised a total of $8 million in venture capital to date.

 

BitHound – Kitchener – BitHound is a software analytics solution providing developers with the information required to deliver clean, efficient and maintainable code. They recently raised a $2 million seed round led by Michael Wekerle’s Difference Capital and including BDC Capital.

 

ConceptKicker – Vancouver – ConceptKicker won the last Startup Weekend Vancouver and less than a month later were Champions at Global Startup Battle 2014. ConceptKicker is a platform for artists to get their 2D design concepts to market.

 

Wattage – Toronto – Cossette Lab incubated Wattage is an online platform that eliminates the complexity of building electronics so anyone can create and sell beautifully designed devices with nothing more than a browser and their imagination.

 

Garmatex – Surrey – Garmatex Technologies is an inventor of performance fabric and apparel solution-focused technologies. They recently partnered with biotech company Diagnomics to use wearable tech to prevent the spread of illnesses in hospitals through healtcare scrubs and linens.

 

Kwilt – Ottawa – Kwilt is a sleek and simple way to assemble the complete collection of images that make up your life. Seamlessly pulling from virtually every social account, drive and device you own, it compiles all your pictures into a fully interactive media mosaic.

 

Flatbook – Montreal – The startup, which graduated from the FounderFuel accelerator in early December, wants to be the first hospitality brand of the sharing economy – promising a higher level of service, quality and consistency at the apartments it rents through AirBnB and HomeAway.

 

Redtree Robotics – Guelph – Part of FounderFuel’s Fall 2014 cohort, Redtree makes it easy and affordable to build mobile robots. Their platform allows developers to get data from sensors and components to the robot for algorithms and programs and easily share it with other robots.
