PwC Names Canada’s Innovator of Year, Highlights 10 Up-and-Coming Tech Companies

Kitchener-based Thalmic Labs, a creator and provider of wearable computing products, was named Innovator of the Year at last night’s Vision to Reality (V2R) Awards hosted by PwC.

The award acknowledges the company that best demonstrated the commercialization of an innovative technology solution. The innovation must be “new, unique and a game changer.” Financeit from Toronto and Busbud from Montreal were finalists for the award.

In addition, 10 companies were selected as the Top 10 Up-and-Coming Technology Companies. This category recognizes companies “that have demonstrated significant promise and growth, establishing a path for future success in the technology industry.” Those companies as named by PwC are:

  • Aislelabs, Toronto
  • Bubl, Toronto
  • Thoughtwire, Toronto

“The recipients of this year’s V2R Awards demonstrate best-in-class innovation and a true ability to reconcile their vision with customer needs,” said Eugene Bomba, National Emerging Company Services Leader, PwC.
