Analysis

Salesforce has announced the global expansion of its ordering solution, Salesforce Order Management. The product will now be available in more countries and languages around the world and features improved customer checkout capabilities.

In expanding Salesforce Order Management, the CRM giant unites commerce, fulfillment, and customer service. The new order management capabilities include the use of new global currencies, payment types, tax formatting, and 35 languages to work with, including right-to-left languages like Arabic and Hebrew. Plus, when customer service reps use the new system, their interface reflects their local timezone, date and number formats, and can be translated into any of those languages.

Another new feature of Salesforce Order Management is Quick Start Commerce for Channels, an e-commerce tool that enables customers to shop, checkout, track orders, connect with service agents in whichever platform they are shopping from, including social media channels.

“In order for businesses to meet customers’ changing expectations, just focusing on supply chain efficiency is not enough,” Salesforce explained in a blog post on their website. “The ordering experience and the platform that’s powering it must be built around the customer, just like the experiences that are set up for customers before they click ‘buy’.”

Salesforce hopes the new features will allow brands to scale order management globally and to new digital shopping channels.

“FinancialForce is excited that Salesforce has expanded their order management solution to support the B2C global marketplace and provide consumers the ability to purchase goods without leaving social media sites,” said Salesforce client Bennet Yen, VP of product at FinancialForce. “Given the current times, it is more critical than ever that global businesses are able to quickly pivot to online sales and Salesforce Order Management enables them to do so.”

Salesforce is one of the world’s largest CRM platforms, with more than one billion shoppers using Commerce Cloud and 765 million service conversations handled by Service Cloud every month. Salesforce Order Management is now available in all regions.
