Tile Appoints CJ Prober as New CEO

Tile, a leader in smart location technology, has appointed CJ Prober as its new Chief Executive Officer. This announcement comes in tandem with the extension of Tile’s strategic partnership with Comcast, which aims to extend the reach of the cloud-based platform.

Leading technology companies is not new for Prober. The Winnipeg-native previously held a number of high-ranking industry positions, including Chief Operations Officer of GoPro, and multiple VP roles at Electronic Arts. He has also served as a member on Tile’s Board of Directors since February.

“Since bringing him onto our board of directors, CJ and I have worked closely together, identifying growth opportunities like this partnership with Comcast,” says Mike Farley, co-founder and preceding CEO of Tile. “He is a steadfast leader with impeccable strategic judgement, and best of all he helps those around him bring their best selves forward. I look forward to watching Tile thrive under his leadership.”

As Prober takes the reigns, his focus will be to continue developing strategic partnerships with companies like Comcast, which can expand Tile’s platform and increase partner products and services.

“Tile is solving a problem that virtually everyone experiences. We all misplace items and waste time and resources looking for them – in fact, people spend an average of one year of their lives looking for lost items,” says Prober. “We have an opportunity to make Tile a ubiquitous service that connects everyone to the things they care about. I’m beyond excited to join the amazing team at Tile.”

Tile is consistently improving its offerings, including recently enabling Comcast customers to use their TV and remote controls to locate Tile devices. As part of this partnership, Comcast will be making a strategic investment in the company, with more announcements to come about how the partnership will benefit mutual customers.
