Food order-ahead services have taken off in Toronto over the past few years, and now it will be even easier to satisfy that craving for Pad thai or a poke bowl in Canada’s largest city.
The Toronto-based Grabb Mobile Inc. has announced a partnership with German company foodora in an effort to shift into the business-to-business (B2B) space. Grabb has already seen large growth in developing order-ahead software for leading Canadian companies and to keep expanding their management has decided to focus solely on the enterprise space.
This means Grabb’s Toronto customer and restaurant network will merge with foodora, one of the fastest growing food ordering platforms in the world. Grabb will keep its intellectual property while it grows their B2B solutions.
“It’s important to work with a company that will continue to provide our restaurant partners with premium business support, and offer our customers a well-designed product and expansive selection of choices,” says Kabir Daswani, chief executive officer and founder of Grabb. “foodora has quickly become a favourite local service, and we’re proud to work with them.”
The partnership comes at an opportune time as foodora has recently launched a pick-up feature in Toronto. Now consumers can use foodora as a one-stop shop for ordering food, as they can choose delivery to their homes or head out and grab it themselves.
“We’re excited to partner with a Toronto-built startup to strengthen our presence in the pickup space,” says David Albert, managing director of foodora Canada. “This move will provide our customers with an even larger selection of local quality restaurants to choose from.”
With the announcement, Grabb users now have access to over 800 restaurants. The company has promised that the move will deliver better value to Grabb users by more than doubling the number restaurants they once had access to. The transition to foodora will begin immediately and Grabb is informing users to download the foodora app to begin taking advantage of the new partnership.
