Busbud Opens Platform to Asia with Launch of Routes Connecting 600 Cities

Busbud, an intercity bus booking website and app, announced this week it has added bus route inventory in Southeast Asia, adding to its global supply.

This is the mark time customers can book a Busbud in Southeast Asia, joining regions like North America, Europe, and Latin America. Busbud now operates in 60 countries worldwide.

“Adding bus inventory in Southeast Asia has been a top request from our customers and we’re now delighted to offer it on our platform,” said Sean Shannon, Busbud’s COO. “Now, more than ever, Busbud is the clear one-stop shop for travellers to find and book their perfect bus trip around the world.”

Busbud’s newly entered region, which includes Thailand and Vietnam, is home to 600 million people. The areas welcome a combined 100 million tourists each year.

“There’s a large growth opportunity in Southeast Asia,” noted Shannon. “As an important part of our clientele are international travellers and the tourism industry in the ASEAN region continues to grow, it only makes sense for us to offer our customers the ability to search, compare and book intercity bus tickets in this region.”

Busbud says that it plans to add additional bus inventory across Southeast Asia, and the rest of Asia Pacific, over time. On the Montreal-based company’s list is Singapore, Japan and India, among others.

“We already have the largest intercity bus inventory in the world but we keep working on adding more to answer our customers’ requests,” says Shannon. “We plan to add further bus inventory in this part of the world with countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, India and China.”

Across four countries and 600 cities, Busbud has added 131,000 routes to be driven by 122 operators.
