LinkedIn Debuts ‘Trending Storylines’ to Get, Keep Users Engaged on Platform

LinkedIn wants to up its social news game and intends to do just that with the launch of Trending Storylines, which the company describes as “daily curated interest-based feeds about the most important developing stories in your industry.”

LinkedIn says the new feature is a natural progression following its rebuild of its Feed experience.

“When we go to our news feeds every morning, we want to connect to the stories that matter most to us professionally,” says Tomer Cohen of LinkedIn. “[Storylines] help you discover and discuss news, ideas and diverse perspectives from the largest group of professionals, publishers and editorial voices ever assembled.”

Each storyline will have a unique hashtag associated with it, according to Cohen, “making it easy for you to join the conversation and add your own take on the issue.”

Cohen says that, in the future, users will be able to follow people and topics, which will help personalize your Feed.

The feature launches in the US today and will expand to other countries “soon,” according to LinkedIn.
