Major US tech companies are pushing an open letter to President Donald Trump. The open letter, circulated by the likes of Facebook, Google, and Apple, expresses concern in regards to his recent immigration ban.
The open letter, however, has not been formally signed by these companies, nor has it been officially submitted to Trump—though the group hopes that this will happen as early as this week, reports Bloomberg via anonymous sources.
“We share your goal of ensuring that our immigration system meets today’s security needs and keeps our country safe,” reads a draft of the letter via Bloomberg News. “We are concerned, however, that your recent Executive Order will affect many visa holders who work hard here in the United States and contribute to our country’s success.”
Trump last week signed an executive order preventing entry by refugees from seven nations, including Iran, Syria, and Somalia for 90 days.
