Facebook Adds Group Video Chatting to Messenger Platform

Facebook has added the ability to video chat in groups to its Messenger platform, which the social network says was “the most requested Messenger feature ever.”

“Starting today, Group Video Chat is rolling out to Android and iOS devices, and the desktop version of Messenger, worldwide,” says Stephane Taine, Product Manager, Messenger.

You can see up to six people at a time in Messenger video chat, but up to 50 users can join in and choose to listen and join via voice.

“We’re delighted to bring you the ability to chat face-to-face with those who matter to you most, wherever they are,” Taine said.

245 million people make video calls in Messenger each month, according to the company.
