Cyber Monday online sales are expected to surpass $3 billion, new data from Adobe Digital Insights shows.
If sales reach Adobe’s expected $3.3 billion mark, it will be a growth of more than 9% from last year. More than $5 billion was spent online by the end of Black Friday, an 18% percent increase year-over-year. It could be the first time Black Friday sales exceed those of Cyber Monday.
“We’ve seen record performance in online shopping over the last few days,” said Becky Tasker, Managing Analyst, Adobe Digital Insights. “Black Friday may overtake Cyber Monday for the first time ever due to Black Friday’s higher than expected revenue of $3.34 billion.”
Mobile commerce accounts for more than half of visits and more than one-third of sales this shopping season, which is up from last year, but social media buzz is down 82%, says Adobe.
The five top selling electronic products on Black Friday were Apple iPads, Samsung 4k TVs, Apple MacBook Air, LG TVs and Microsoft Xbox.
Adobe’s insights are based on aggregated and anonymous data from 23 billion visits to retail websites.
