A New Apple Watch with GPS, Better Battery Life Could Launch Beside iPhone Next Month
An analyst well connected with Apple’s supply chain has some new intel on the next generation of the company’s smartwatch.
In his most recent research note, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the Apple Watch 2 will launch this year and include a faster processor, GPS, a barometer, enhanced waterproofing, and longer battery life.
Overall, the exterior will remain similar, with unchanged screen sized. Cellular connectivity is not anticipated until 2017, according to Kuo.
The new Watch could be unveiled as soon as next month, when the next-gen iPhone launches, says Kuo, considering how well they pair together. That date may be September 16, with preorders beginning on the 9th, suggest some rumors.
