Tesla Quarter Misses Estimates, Plans Three New Vehicle Launches for 2017

A slower than expected quarter from Tesla saw its share price stumble. Revenue was up year-over-over at $1.56 billion but missed analyst estimates.

Tesla delivered 14,400 new cars during the quarter, putting it off pace of its goal to deliver 80,000 in 2016.

This week Tesla acquired SolarCity, another Elon Musk company, for $2.6 billion as it looks to become a vertically integrated transportation and energy giant.
