Executive Shuffles at BlackBerry, Microsoft, Mobify

Lori Bush Shepard is the new vice president of marketing for Vancouver’s Mobify, a mobile customer engagement platform. Shepard held marketing roles at Marketo, and, more recently, Clarizen.

“Lori has a proven approach to helping growth companies achieve rapid scale through extensive expertise in marketing execution and tech savvy—precisely what Mobify needs to help us in the fast-growing market for mobile customer engagement,” said CEO Igor Faletski. “We’re very excited to have her join us as we help our customers address their mobile customers’ experiences holistically and turn fragmented mobile interactions into meaningful customer connections. ”

In similar news, TextNow added Lindsay Gibson as Chief Operating Officer. Gibson joined the Waterloo startup from BlackBerry, where she spearheaded efforts to enhance customer experience through multiple channels.

As COO, Lindsay will assume leadership for all TextNow operations including oversight of the entire customer experience lifecycle encompassing customer care, fulfillment, billing and IT. She will also be responsible for business strategy, execution and continue to build upon the company’s recent impressive growth.

“With TextNow’s recent growth trajectory and corporate expansion, we need to continue to build a very strong team to support every aspect of our business,” said Derek Ting, CEO and co-founder of TextNow.

“Having spent my entire career working for a global corporate company, I’m attracted to beginning this new path working for an entrepreneurial venture like TextNow whose primary goal is to provide the most affordable and user friendly wireless service to its users,” said Gibson.

And over at Microsoft, COO Kevin Turner has left after 11 years to become CEO of trading firm Citadel Securities. Apparently Turn left big shoes to fill: CEO Satya Nadella has split Turner’s responsibilities across five different executives, including marketing chief Chris Capossela and corporate strategy head Kurt DelBene.
