There Are Now 500 Million Instagrammers, 60% of Which Are Daily Users

Instagram now has 500 million users. More than 300 million of those users are active daily, the company says. And over 80% of all users are outside the US.

“As you’ve captured and shared the moments happening around you, you’ve formed incredibly varied and diverse communities,” the company wrote in a blog post this week. “You’ve made Instagram a place where the everyday and the epic are always within reach.”

Instagram’s success gave the share price of Facebook—which owns the photo-based social network—a a slight boost in trading today.

“Thank you for your creativity, your openness and your passion for sharing your worlds with one another,” Instagram wrote online. “We can’t wait to see what you create next.”
