A new mobile app lets users pay bills by snapping a photo.
Plastiq, founded by Canadian Harvard University graduates Eliot Buchanan and Daniel J. Choi, is targeting card holders who enjoy the convenience of all bills being paid on a single card.
Currently the iOS-based feature works in the US and Canada.
The catch? There is a 2.5% “convenience fee” for credit card transactions and a 1% fee for debit card payments.
The Boston-based startup has been at it for years. In 2013 it enabled Canadians to pay their income tax with a credit card.
