Buddybuild Raises $1.2 Million to Help Developers Create Awesome Apps

Vancouver’s BuddyBuild announced today that they’ve raised a $1.2 milion round from Bloomberg Beta, First Round Capital, and Amplify Partners.

Angel investors Steve Garrity (Hearsay Social), Mike Vernal (Facebook), Dave Johnson (PhoneGap/Adobe), Douglas Purdy (Stealth/TBA), and Debbie Landa (Dealmaker) also participated in the round and Slack’s Stewart Butterfield has joined as a formal advisor.

Buddybuild is the world’s first mobile iteration platform for iOS and now Android app developers. It ties together continuous integration, continuous delivery and an iterative feedback solution into a single, seamless platform.

For app developers that means no more cobbling together disparate systems to meet their mobile development needs. With buddybuild, they can focus on what matters most: creating awesome apps.

The platform has had no shortage of developer love since it soft launched on Product Hunt in October and over 1000 organizations including CarFax, Meetup, Intuit/TurboTax, and PwC are now using it.

Over 1600 apps have signed up to use Buddybuild and it has been used in over 80 countries in the last 45 days.

Buddybuild was co-founded by Dennis Pilarinos, Christopher Stott, and Johnny Ting Shi – all members of the Amazon Vancouver team that worked on the Silk web browser for the Kindle Fire tablet and Fire smartphone.
