Climate change is a growing global concern, and changes within the automotive industry reflect that.
At auto shows this year, alternative energy vehicles are popping up everywhere. At the 2016 Canadian International AutoShow, more than 25 electric, hydrogen and hybrid eco vehicles that have the state of the environment top of mind are slated to be on the show floor at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from February 12to 21.
“More and more car owners are conscious about their emissions and are looking for an alternative energy vehicle without sacrificing the power and performance of a traditional automobile,” says Jason Campbell, General Manager of the AutoShow. “The innovation in alternative energies has come a long way, and it is sparking a profound change in the outlook and approach of the automotive industry.
With 650,000 square feet of exhibits, displays and attractions at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the Canadian International AutoShow is the country’s largest consumer show. Some of the alternative energy vehicles on display this year include the Audi A3 e-tron, the BMW i8, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, the Kia Niro, and the Tesla Model X.
