Groove has been acquired by Microsoft.
The Montreal-born music discovery app was bought by Microsoft recently for an undisclosed sum.
“Our journey started back in the days of the iPod,” wrote the three founders on Medium. “From that instant, we envisioned a music player so intelligent that learns our tastes and habits in order to play the right music at the right time.”
Groove was cofounded by Bruno Sylvain, Eduard Lucic, and Tri Nguyen.
“We are incredibly proud to have delighted you with a rich mobile experience and countless hours of music bliss through the tens of millions of personalized playlists we generated,” the founders said.
Groove is no longer available for download but current users may continue to use the app.
Groove was in 2013 a part of the FounderFuel accelerator.
