The Canadian Association of Fashion and Arts has added a new category to its annual awards.
The Fashion Innovation Award celebrates tech’s influence on the industry. This year’s finalists are Sidebuy, Frank & Oak, and Stylekick.
“Technology is a huge force in today’s fashion industry, so the time was right to honor companies who are producing great wearable technology, interesting apps or breakthroughs in ecommerce,” says Vicky Miller, CAFA’s managing director.
Vancouver-based fashion tech startup Sidebuy aims to bridge the divide between fashion and lifestyle brands and the social online influencers who can get their products noticed.
Stylekick is a comparison and recommendation engine for established and budding online apparel shopping addicts alike.
Based in Montreal, the award-winning Frank & Oak has created a community of followers by offering personalized style advice and curated product selections via its online platform and retail stores.
Frank & Oak is also a nominee for menswear designer of the year.
