A record number of entrepreneurs gave applied to take part in the latest Propel ICT program.
More than 162 companies submitted applications, marking a 25% increase from last year.
Consequently the organization says it will now offer its accelerator program twice per year.
The program is divided in two: Build, which supports companies with an established product and market, and Launch, which targets early-stage startups.
“The record interest in Propel ICT’s accelerator programs shows that the startup community in Atlantic Canada is building momentum,” said Dave Grebenc, CEO of Innovatia and Chair of Propel ICT. “More people are recognizing that they can build successful companies from a base on the East Coast. We are offering two cohorts for our programs, which will ensure over 72 companies graduate from Propel ICT each year.”
36 finalists will be selected for the accelerator programs, which begin March 1.
