Canadian startups continue to get the thumbs up from Dave McClure’s 500 Startups Accelerator program.
500 Startups has announced Batch 15 and four Canadian teams were among the 40 international startups selected.
Overall this intake is a diverse group with 43% of the companies from outside of the United States and 33% have at least one female founder.
The Canadians that made the cut are:
- Toronto’s Mejuri – An affordable fine jewelry brand powered by influencers and award winning designers.
- Vancouver’s MetaMixis – Google for nature.
- Calgary’s Nobal Technologies – Interactive Mirrors for Hotel and Retail.
- Toronto’s Set Scouter – A marketplace that makes video production easy — starting with location rentals.
The 500 Startups Accelerator experiments with early-stage startup formulas for explosive growth with a mixture of up to $250K in funding, superhuman mentors & designers in residence, platform-specific strategies for customer acquisition, a creative workspace and lots more awesomeness.
