Toronto-based coding school HackerYou has opened a second office.

Located at 485 Queen Street West, the new space doubles the size of their Toronto campus, bringing their total square footage to 12,000 square feet.

“The opportunity to expand into the building next to our original space could not have come at a better time,” says HackerYou CEO Heather Payne.

Located next door to their original space, the additional 5,100 square feet adds two classrooms and an Alumni Lounge over two floors. HackerYou started renovating the space earlier in the year, refinishing floors, upsizing windows, and giving it the same feel as the original space.

“The two additional classrooms will allow us to expand our part-time programs, and the Alumni Lounge provides us with the unique opportunity to continue serving our graduates,” Payne notes.

The second floor, which is the Alumni Lounge, will be a membership-based space where HackerYou’s part-time and full-time alumni can hang out, socialize and work. Filled with comfy couches, tables and chairs, a kitchen and outfitted with two meeting rooms, the space will enable HackerYou alumni to continue to connect with each other long after their classes have wrapped up

“The HackerYou Alumni community is one of the best things about HackerYou, so I’m thrilled that we’ll see so many of them more often,” Payne added.
