Local Community Embraces Startupong

Since Toronto based Uberflip, a leading content marketing software company, first announced it was bringing back Startupong last month, registration has exceeded expectations.

With five weeks to go until the event, the second annual ping pong tournament geared towards uniting and supporting Toronto’s thriving startup community has surpassed 400 registrants.

Uberflip Co­founder Randy Frisch is overwhelmed by the local support.

“We’ve had wildly unexpected initial support from startup partners stepping up to get involved,” he says. “From growth companies like Hubba and Clio becoming partners, to larger sponsorships from companies like PwC, HIRED.com, and Nexonia everyone is clearly excited for Startupong.”

This year, Uberflip is offering startups opportunity to get more involved through a S​tartup Partner​ package, which include team t­-shirts, guaranteed admission tickets, and co­-sponsorship opportunities.

“We didn’t create Startupong to generate revenue—that’s what Uberflip is for,” he notes. “If we can get more startups onboard, not only will we be able to expand this year’s venue, but any surplus from sponsorships will be donated to the SickKids Foundation.”

Startupong is taking place on Tuesday, October 13 at SPiN ping pong social club in Toronto. Entrepreneurs will join for complimentary drinks and appetizers, and have the option to register in the doubles ping pong tournament at $20 per team, with all proceeds going towards the SickKids Foundation. General Admission tickets are free.
