FreshBooks Launches Referral Program, Offering Free Months to Users

FreshBooks has launched a new referral program.

The cloud-based accounting software designed for service-based small business owners says users now have the opportunity to earn and gift free months of service when they recommend FreshBooks to family, friends, and colleagues. Referral progress is automatically tracked so users can see the status of the invitations and the number of free months they’ve earned.

For every friend who is invited and signs on for a FreshBooks account after the 30-day trial period, the referrer and the friend will each receive one free month of service worth up to $40 USD per month.

“Here at FreshBooks, our top priority is to help small business owners spend less time billing and more time getting down to business,” said Mike McDerment, co-founder and CEO of FreshBooks. “When people recommend us to a friend, it’s the ultimate vote of confidence and lets us know we’re on the right track. The new Referral Program enables us to thank our customers for placing their trust in us and spreading the word about FreshBooks.”

The Canadian company has helped more than 10 million people process billions of dollars through its easy-to-use invoicing, expense management, time tracking, and online payments features. FreshBooks has earned a 97-percent customer satisfaction score.

FreshBooks Looks to Improve App Experience with New Mobile Features for Small Businesses

FreshBooks, a cloud-based accounting software designed exclusively for service-based small business owners, is looking to improve its mobile app.

In its Q2 2015 earnings call, Apple announced it is working with software providers to bring a broad range of new mobile solutions to customers. As part of this, FreshBooks is working with Apple to deliver a made-for-business app to allow small business owners to run their business from anywhere.

Small business owners’ ability to operate their entire business while on the road and using a mobile device that can fit into their pocket has a significant impact on their bottom line: it brings the flexibility and convenience that comes with being able to work from and check in on their business anywhere, anytime, and also empowers users to be more productive with their time so they can get back to focusing on doing the work they love.

“Service-based small business owners – people who get paid for their time and expertise – are the future of the economy, and their unique accounting needs are incredibly underserved,” said Mike McDerment, CEO of FreshBooks. “Much of their time is devoted to tracking their hours, generating accurate invoices, and trying to stay on top of their cash flow.”

FreshBooks recently worked with Apple to release Touch ID and Passcode, the first of many new features to come for FreshBooks customers who use iOS devices. It enables the use of a fingerprint as a passcode to log into the FreshBooks mobile app, effectively enhancing user experience by improving the speed and ease of use, while providing advanced security of confidential business information.

Other new features are expected to launch soon.
