This spring, Techvibes and BrainStation partnered to offer two lucky winners a chance to take a BrainStation summer course in UX Design or Intro to Web Development and collaborate on building the 2015 Startup Awards website.
After combing through applications, we have selected David Kyle and Kyle Legare to take part in this exciting opportunity.
David Kyle took the lead in building Hootsuite’s community in Asia Pacific, and is now an expert in leading, developing and executing implementation plans for Hootsuite Enterprise clients. David is eager to boost his skills with User Experience Design, ultimately lending his newfound expertise to building the Startup Awards website.
“Being part of a new project always incites a sense of adventure in me,” he says. “With anything new, you know there are going to be bumps along the way. Being part of a group that works those first bumps out so others in the future experience different bumps and are able to iron those bumps, and so on and so forth, is something that I really enjoy. There’s a sense of pride you get when you ship something across the finish line and you’ve worked with a group of people that are trying something new.”
Kyle Legare is an expert when it comes to helping enterprise organizations create meaningful conversations through social media. Kyle will be joining BrainStation’s Intro to Web Development course, applying his coding knowledge to build the foundation for a killer site.
“There are two reasons why I’m very excited to have been selected,” he says. “The first reason is that I am able to invest in my professional skill set and deepen my technical proficiency. The second, and maybe more exciting reason, is to have the skills to build and launch the greatest idea the world has ever seen—once I figure out what that is.”
Stay tuned as BrainStation shares David and Kyle’s experience, and be sure to follow the BrainStation blog to watch their progress, with a final website unveil scheduled for fall 2015.
A big thank you to all who applied; great to see such enthusiasm in the Vancouver tech community.
