With an influx of award-winning creative agencies existing and opening up shop in Calgary, it’s no wonder #CAMPFEST14 is drawing in support and creative crowds.

With 300 attendees and a fierce lineup of international talent that include Stefan Sagmeister, James White, and many more, CAMP Festival is converging the digital industry and its members to share stories, connect and get inspired.

Sit in on creative technology, art and design presentations in a traditional conference setting and also gather around the experiential campfire in a down-to-earth and approachable fashion with a beer in hand while meeting, exploring and mingling.

And just when you thought that was enough, let’s not forget about the parties! With a special lodging rate and the hotel nearby, it’s easy to have a few too many while you rub shoulders with giants and explore the city bursting full of energy.

CAMP kicks off the festival on September 8 at the historic Theatre Junction GRAND in downtown Calgary with a special adventure workshop starting on September 7 at the Marriott Hotel for which limited tickets are sold separately.

Two days seems like an excellent time to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, get inspired and explore all the industry has to offer, and you’re right but that’s not all. With Beakerhead following up on CAMP’s festivities from September 10 to 14 and Maker Faire preceding the festivities on September 6 and 7, we fuse the smash up of art and introduce science and engineering into the mix with maker cultures and you’ll wonder why you don’t call Calgary home like the rest of us.

All this love for creativity, surely the city must be promoting such a lifestyle. Well, you guessed right. The Calgary Arts Development Association is doing just that with their Living a Creative Life strategy. If you’re interested in the city and all it’s offering, be sure to check that out as well.
