Epson Partners with Two Canadian Startups to Bolster OmniLink Solutions

Epson has partnered with two Canadian startups this week to bolster its OmniLink solutions.

Today at the National Retail Federation 102nd Annual Convention, Epson and Vancouver-based RewardLoop announced the availability of the RewardLoop mobile loyalty and rewards platform on Epson’s OmniLink smart POS solutions family. RewardLoop is a Canadian startup focused on cloud hosted, transaction-based mobile rewards programs.

OmniLink combines an Epson POS printer with PC functionality to deliver cloud-based services, open platform mobility and web-based printing from mobile devices. Paired with Epson’s OmniLink, RewardLoop delivers a “universal, plug-and-play mobile loyalty and rewards solution on virtually any existing POS system or cash register with no need for upgrades to existing software,” the company says.

“Retailers are looking for innovative ways to connect with shoppers via mobile devices,” explained Gregg Brunnick, Director of Marketing for Epson’s Business Systems Division. “With RewardLoop, retailers can start using smartphone-based loyalty and rewards quickly and easily today – and evolve their solution when they’re ready to move to NFC-based programs of the future.”

“With Epson’s OmniLink solutions, we can offer our platform seamlessly, easily and cost-effectively,” added Jeff LaPorte, CEO at RewardLoop. “With this solution, retailers can cost effectively transition to a digital loyalty program and also gain needed real time insight into their customer base that will help them grow their business. Our goal is to bring retailers closer to customers through technology.”

Epson has also partnered with Livelenz, a provider of real-time, operational and consumer analytics for the retail and hospitality segments.

“We’ve been up and running at several Moe’s Southwest Grill locations for more than a year now,” noted Joel Doherty, CEO at Livelenz. “With our platform in place, Moe’s has realized measurable financial returns through operational improvements, upsell opportunities and labor cost reductions. With Epson’s OmniLink, retailers gain all the features and functionality of real-time data analytics – without updating their current POS systems. Even the oldest legacy systems are supported, and getting started is fast, easy and cost effective.”

“We’ve been working with Livelenz for a couple of years,” said Gregg Brunnick, Director of Marketing for Epson’s Business Systems Division. “Our efforts have resulted in retailers gaining access to a new data gateway for comprehensive web-based data analytics, and we’ve seen the results. This solution can truly transform a business.”

The Livelenz solution with OmniLink will be available in the first quarter of 2013. Livelenz was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in Canada with offices in the UK and USA.
